HTC Wildfire S Review
Tuesday, October 25, 2011

HTC Wildfire S, having managed niggles of its predecessor (the Wildfire), is a rectified version. So we can hope it to be more efficient in performance and slick as well. Besides, coming with the latest Android v2.3 Gingerbread, it opens the door for more advanced features of smart phone technology. However, it is not a powerful gadget and clocks at only 600MHz processor.

Accepting the fact that HTC Wildfire was an entry level Android phone, it could not support a number of Android features. But the second one mimicking the look of the Desire shines like a star in the HTC's Galaxy. And, it stills lacks in processing power. The heart winning user interface and affordable price of the Wildfire S have made it a popular device though.

Revision Succeeded:

HTC Wildfire S is a second attempt of scoring gold and we don't deny that the brand seems to be succeeding in its efforts of offering improved version of the device that hit the market just some months ago. It has certainly succeeded in solving major issues that hampered the popularity of its forerunner. Besides, more number of pixels in the resolution is provided with same screen size. However, it is not in position to challenge the retina display of Apple iPhone.

Body Language and Looks:

HTC Wildfire S, like its ancestor is a pocket friendly handset. Having the dimension of 101x12.4x59mm, it weighs only 105grams which simply means it is light and easy to hold. It may look a little dinky for those who have large mitts. Its metallic body and single piece aluminium frame instantly remind us of the Desire S. In all, predominant use of metal gives us reassuring feeling.

Upgraded Android OS:

One more thing that instigated our desire for this device is its latest Android Gingerbread OS. It is in print named v2.3; however, it is 2.3.3, the latest version. Perhaps, it is the most updated version of Google Android update.

Enticing User Interface:

The HTC Wildfire S is bestowed with the latest version of Sense that is full of significat ideas. We wonder why these ideas did not click to the minds of other. In all, it makes a lot of sense. It is full of surprises and delights us every time. We are treated by its magic features. Some main wonders are given below:

1. People-Centric Communication: All your calls, messages and updates are organized by people’s choice, not by an application.

2. Customizable Home-Screen: Whatever you think important for yourself, you can add that on your home screen.

3. Setting up Scenes: Create and change to make it perfect phone for your work, home or holiday.

4. Friend Stream: This feature of the phone streams all social network updates of your friends from various sites at one single page so that you don't miss anything. Besides, you can send updates to each of your networks in one go.

5. Easy Reading and Browsing: With its zoom in and zoom out or resizing the size of the texts, it becomes easier to read on its screen.

6. Food for Thought: If you are a voracious reader, just tap lightly and you can search a word or phrases in Google, Wikipedia or dictionary.

7. No more awkwardness: Next time when your phone rings during a meeting or something like that, you need not baffle. As you pick up the phone, the ring decreases or if you want it to keep mum, just turn it upside down.

8. No More Missed Calls: You can set up the phone for some important calls to ring louder so that you can pay your attention when such call comes. Suppose, the device is in your pocket and your call comes, it will ring louder.

9. Not only the caller's name: While a call comes to you, it shows not only the name of the caller but all the latest updates from social networking sites and even date of birth.

Tech you really Need:

The handset has 5MP camera, expandable memory slot along with 512MB ROM, 512 RAM and several applications for internet connectivity. Adding further it is embellished with 3.5mm audio jack for hands free music. As for the battery of the phone, its 1,230mAh battery can last almost a day before it needs more charging.

Is it a complete pack?

Surely the inclusion of Gingerbread and boosted screen resolution are great reliefs for its lovers. But, it does not enjoy all the applications and games of Android world. A few of them are out of its 600MHz power processor. Nevertheless, it is good gizmo to be snapped up, if you don't need a gigantic one.
