The device that combines s a video camera and a video recorder into one single unit is known as camcorder. It is distinguished from other devices and is described as a portable device primarily designed for video capturing and recording. The lens, imager, and recorder are the vital components of any device. Like mobile phones, camcorders also have storage capacity on the basis of which they are measured. In the older days, tapes were the only mediums to store data. Therefore camcorder also used tapes to store the data but now the times have changed. Hence optical disks, hard disk drives and flash memory are used to store information. The camcorder are available in analog and digital formats having there pros and cons. Some of the commonly found analog signals are BCE, Simplex, Quadruplex etc and some of the analog signals that are commonly found are Laserdix, Umatic, Betacam etc.
