Apple iPhone 4 Review
Tuesday, October 25, 2011
Apple has been consistently riding on the waves of success with its exclusive devices. Its Apple iPhone 4 has been scripting new success stories with its slew of spectacular specs. Its high resolution retina display is set to render you an ultimate viewing pleasure. While the Facetime lets you enjoy video chatting with near and dear ones located all across the globe. The newly designed iOS 4 operating system is also the key attraction of this much-acclaimed device.
Indeed impressive : Design and display
Apple has paid closest attention towards the aesthetic look while designing this 4th gen phone. That's why, this gadget features an appealing design in comparison to its big brothers iPhone 3G and 3GS having curved back design and plastic exterior. Use of scratch proof tough glass panels and flat stainless steel on all sides renders it a solid feel. Measuring 115.2 x58.6 x 9.3 mm size, it's more compact and slimmer compared to old sibs. Like iPhone 3GS, it weighs 137g, thus ensures easy and comfortable handling and carrying.
The device sports the 3.5 inches LED-backlit capacitive touchscreen, which renders a greater viewing with its higher resolution of 960×640 pixels and contrast ratio of 800:1. the screen shows the pics, videos, websites, games with more crystal clarity and sharpness compared to that of its counterparts.
Undoubtedly great : Operating system
Apple's own iOS 4 supports the device and brings plenty of upgrades over earlier version iOS 3. You can lend your choice of look ton your handset by personalizing it with plenty of home screen wallpapers. You can streamline all applications in different folders by using its innovative feature Folders. The OS also assists you leaving aside all your hassles in viewing the emails and brings all the messages in a single inbox.
It's really breeze to navigate all across the device. It requires just a click on the home key to rerun back to home screen.
Speedy and jitterless : Connectivity
The 1 GHz ARM Cortex-A8 processor significantly accelerates the processing speed of the device. You can experience around 3 times faster speed compared to iPhone 3GS. The connection capabilities are also superb including 3G, GPRS, EDGE, HSDPA and Wi-Fi. The transfer of data and files is also a inch with Bluetooth and USB. More interestingly, you can also use the iPhone 4 like a 3G modem.
A bit slow : Internet Browsing
In spite of being equipped with Apple A4 processor, Internet browsing is not up to the mark. No doubt, it's faster, when compared to iPhone 3GS. The scrolling and bookmarking are easy and pleasing. But, lack of Adobe Flash support left us irritated.
Huge and peerless : Application store
Apple's App Store beyond doubt outshines the Android with more than 200,000 apps, from which some are absolutely free of cost. If you're a globetrotter, its Google Maps will prove handy with its pinch to zoom facility, notwithstanding, these can't surpass Android maps with free sat nav and transit maps. Bibliophiles would surely like the iBooks app, which enables the reading of large number of eBooks. It's of course a thrill to turn and bookmark the pages on this device.
Not too much stirring: Multitasking
The much-talked about multitasking feature left us blue. Albeit, the apps switching is really snappy, you can't run plenty of apps at the same time with ample 512MB RAM. Further, the organizing the open apps is also improper and you need to click twice on home key and then swipe through the icons along the bottom.
Heart pleasing: Multimedia:
Apple has taken big leaps by fitting the iPhone 4 with 5 mega pixels camera, thus cheering its fans using original iPhone and iPhone 3G with 2MP camera and iPhone 3GS with 3.2MP camera. FaceTime video calling feature can be enjoyed through front facing VGA camera with WiFi connectivity.
The impressive media player, which resembles iPod classic enables you in appreciating favorite songs with fairly good audio and sounds. The iTunes interface lets you download media on the device and shake to shuffle feature lets you change that. The 3.5mm headphone slot enables in using choices of headphone.
The 720p video recording is not attention-grabbing but with video trimmer like in iPhone 3GS, you can improve its quality a tad.
Reasonably good : Calling and messaging
The overall call quality satisfied us with excellent speaker and earpiece along with noise suppressing mics. We didn't encounter any problem in the voice. You can access to host of messaging options with new iOS 4. for the same, device packs landscape as well as portrait keyboard. All the messages can be checked through unified inbox.
Superb and powerful Battery:
Unlike the iPhone 3G and 3GS with low battery life, the iPhone 4 packs powerful battery, which eliminates the needs of daily charge even after heavy use.
